Why PEI Should Go Solar
Raising Utility Rate Protection: Going solar is the best way to hedge your raising electricity cost. Do you know PEI pays the 4th highest electricity rate among all the provinces in Canada?
14.37 cents per KWH first 2000 KWH per month, 11.42 cents per KWH for the remainder. According to our study, the average PEI family is using on average 15,300 kWh per year. That is an approximate spending of $1,747.26 a year before HST
How Does Solar Work in PEI
1.Photovoltaic cells absorb the sun’s energy and convert it into a DC electric Current.
2.A solar inverter converts that DC current into an AC electric current for use in the home.
3.Your electrical panel then sends this electricity throughout your home to power your electronics.
4.Excess power that is not used by the home will be sent to the grid for credit which can be used for the future. A bi-directional meter will be installed to record these credits.
